“I am picky when it comes to therapists for my son, and I cannot recommend Kara Swinney highly enough. Kara is experienced & knowledgeable: she has worked with all different kinds of kids with developmental delay. My son has a rare disorder; she’d worked with children facing the same hurdles he has and always knows the right next step. Kara is constantly learning: We have done intensive PT with other therapists while working with Kara – she always comes one day – at no charge – to see what they are doing, coordinate with them and make sure she is following up with them. Her CME certification has greatly benefited our son, and another example of Kara continuing to learn new things to help her kids. Kara is available: As an example: Kara recommends orthotics and then meets with the orthotist. Kara communicates: She sends the best updates and videos after our son’s sessions. Every. Single. Time. I never wonder what they are working on, what we can work on, and how he did. She also regularly communicates with our son’s teachers and other therapists so that everyone is on the same page and working toward the same goals. She also takes notes from them to incorporate their goals into her sessions with him when she can. Kara is KIND: She sets expectation for my son to work hard in session, but he LOVES her. He rushes to meet her when he sees her. Kara gets results: In the end – with Kara’s help, my son was walking well before his diagnosis said he should be. He is continually getting better at all things. Our doctors are always praising him, and say “keep doing what you are doing.” We are grateful to have Kara in our lives. Kara goes above and beyond: whether it is helping us fill out insurance paperwork, flexing through the Covid craziness, giving our son thoughtful Valentine’s and birthday cards, or incredibly hard work for her clients – the love that she has for her kids and families is very apparent. We love her right back.”

“As a mom of two kids with Down Syndrome, Kara had been an integral part of our early intervention therapy sessions for over four years.
Both kids benefitted immensely from her expertise and were able to achieve their gross motor milestones with her help. My daughter needed extra help with hip alignment exercises and Kara helped her with using hip brace, hip helpers, and worked on her alignment and proper walking. “
